You want your horse to BEG you to take them on another adventure, another ride. Make training so much fun for them that even when it’s mentally or physically tough, they’re still enjoying the challenge.
Charlisse “Charlie” Weintraub was born and raised just a few minutes away from Ride Off Ranch. As a young child she begged her parents for a pony. Although they didn't give into the pony right away, she began riding in lessons at the age of 5. She progressed through the upper levels of eventing before concentrating on her love of show jumping during her 20s. During this time she obtained her AS in Equine Science while working full time as a trainer for multiple dressage and jumping barns. As with most young adults, college, marriage and children took over and horses took a backseat for a few years, but were always an integral part of her life.
When Charlie had the opportunity to volunteer as a trainer for a local horse rescue, she jumped right back into the saddle. This new-found side of the horse rescue world, though sometimes dark, realized a dream. Discarded competition horses, from the very same realm she grew up, needed a voice. A few years later, in early 2019, Charlie and her husband Jonathan purchased the property where they would build Ride Off Ranch.
A combination of competing, training, and in raising her own young horses, Charlie founded her philosophy of a well-rounded horse: A horse is physically and mentally at its best with cross-training and a foundation of WANTING to work with and please its rider. Applying what she has learned in rescue combined with her competitive past and experience, Charlie specializes in building the confidence of both the rider and the horse while strengthening the bond between them.
